This little girl ,only 18 months old was found alone and weeping and very distressed wandering the platforms of the station. Immediate attempts to find the parents involving the police and searching trains were to no avail, and at the request of the Police, Nileen as the staff have named here( it means surrended), was admitted with special arrangements to Rescue Junction. Widespread publicity in the local media and posters at the station have bought no result so far in our attempts to find her family. Nileen will be presented, if her family are not found to the nearest Child Welfare Committee in Patna (over 100 km away) as there is no such panel in Gaya.
It is really remarkable that Rescue Junction remains the only such facilty in the whole district to care for such children.
No missing or kidnapping case has been found regarding Nileen, it appears she may have been intentionally abandoned.
LATEST NEWS.
Nillen has been placed by the child welfare court in Patna at Rescue Junction whilst arrangements are made for her adoption.
Her adoption will be by an Indian family. Baby Nileen has now been joined by by Baby ASHA (photograph below) which means hope. All efforts are on to find her family.

ONE WORLD CHILDREN'S FUND
Again, especially for our supporters living in the USA we would like to thank everyone at One World Childrens Fund based in the bay area of San Francisco. OWCF was started by Micheal and Savirti some years ago following a visit to our projects. Micheal and Savitri on thier return to the US decided to do something to help make the world a better place, and started a non profit which now benefits hundreds of children around the world in dozens of projects. OWCF remain the original source of all our support in the USA and they support three village schools, and are helping us to secure further support for Rescue Junction. It is possible to donate tax free to OWCF for US residents. Please mark your donation for People First.
